Lesedi Awards celebrate 10 years of impact

For a decade, the Lesedi Awards have shone a light on the extraordinary Momentum Group employees who lead with heart, drive change, and uplift communities across South Africa.

Since its inception in 2016, Lesedi (meaning “light” in Sesotho) has become a powerful symbol of hope, purpose, and collective impact. What began as a recognition platform has become a movement that celebrates employees who embody our purpose: to build and protect our people’s dreams.

Empowering communities

Through Lesedi, we celebrate employees whose selfless volunteerism empowers individuals and communities to thrive despite life’s challenges. These are the people who see potential where others see limitation, who give not for gain, but to light the way for others to follow.

Recognising excellence

Each year, Lesedi finalists and winners are honoured for their outstanding commitment to community service. Every nominee receives a contribution toward their chosen cause, extending the reach of their impact and inspiring others to get involved. By recognising our employees’ volunteer work, we reaffirm that growth and giving go hand in hand.

A legacy of kindness

Ten years on, Lesedi continues to remind us that kindness is not just a gesture, it’s the foundation of transformation. Lesedi inspires a ripple effect: employees contribute their time, skills, and resources beyond the awards, creating lasting impact in communities. Hear how the awards inspired the 2024 winners and impacted the NGOs they support.
